A highlight of Vivica's concertizing during 2014 and 2015 is the thrilling new programme Rival Queens, in which Vivica is joined by dynamic German soprano Simone Kermes in arias and duets composed at the height of the rivalry between Eighteenth-Century superstars Faustina Bordoni and Francesca Cuzzoni. Featuring music by Bononcini, Händel, Leo, Lotti, Pollarolo, Porpora, Porta, and Vinci, some of which has not been heard since the careers of Bordoni and Cuzzoni, Rivalries explores the artistic legacies of these two legendary singers and the heights of inspiration to which their much-fêted competition moved the important composers of the era. Andrés Gabetta and Cappella Gabetta lend stylish support.

Special thanks are due to Giovanni Andrea Sechi for his tremendous assistance with researching and preparing selections for Rival Queens.
